DCI Free Eye Screening Camp Program to Be Held at FeTNA Conference, Palace Theater, Waterbury CT

US-based charity fights for BLINDNESS PREVENTION

Cheshire, CT (June 14, 2010): Distressed Children & Infants International, a US registered, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID# 810671495), is hosting a “Free Eye Screening Camp” as part of it’s Blindness Prevention program to serve the attendees of Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA). The program will take place on July 3, 2010, from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM, at Palace Theater, Waterbury CT. A service like this is essential for children, adults and seniors to ensure the continued health of their eyes and good vision. This will be especially valuable to families who may be bringing their parents and others who may be visiting from India and may not have insurance.

Dr. Brian M. DeBroff, MD, FACS is the founding President of DCI and is passionate about eye care and is deeply committed to improving the health and welfare of underprivileged children. Dr. DeBroff specializes in cataract and IOL implant surgery. He has particular clinical and research interest in congenital, pediatric developmental, and traumatic cataracts, and multifocal IOL implants.

The goal of DCI’s program is two-fold: to raise awareness of children’s vision care and to help people without insurance to get free eye screening and treatments in the local communities.

This event is open to all; however, we request you enlist as soon as possible on the July 3rd morning by 8am. DCI will also have a booth at the event. We invite all our sponsors, donors and friends to attend the program and also to visit our booth. Please come to help our mission and learn how DCI is changing the lives of underprivileged children in Bangladesh, how the life-long benefits U.S. children are gaining by volunteering for DCI, and how DCI’s volunteer programs are also connecting the young generation of expatriate families to their roots in India. DCI will also have an information booth at this event. More information on this event is available at http: http://www.distressedchildren.org
